U.S. Army Pattern Chisel
straight, 6-1/4″ (16.0 cm)Â US Army Pattern Gouge is a specialized instrument designed for removal of specific segments of bone. This gouge is designed similarly to a chisel but the blade portion features a curvature to it allowing it to be used to scoop up segments. The opposite end of this gouge has a rounded, flat end that can be used with a mallet to increase the driving force to effectively pierce through bone. This gouge is available in three sizes 6.0 mm, 12.0 mm and 18.0 mm making them well suited for larger bones in the spinal surgery and smaller ones for more delicate work on the skull.
