For use during bipolar electrosurgical procedures, these forceps are designed with a 1.0 mm tip and a smooth jaw. Available in both insulated and insulated with irrigation. Just as with their standard counterparts, these forceps are the most common bipolar forcep model. Bipolar forceps are designed to control temperatures, minimize heat and current spread and reduce tissue sticking or charring while coagulating during bipolar electrosurgical procedures. They are available in a variety of styles that provide bipolar coagulating capabilities for a wide range of procedures: irrigating or non-irrigating (for flushing surgical site to improve visualization), with or without insulation (to eliminate conduction to surrounding tissues when performing deep procedures), straight or bayonet-shaped (to enhance visibility by keeping the surgeon's hand from the line of sight). Designed with its bayonet handle angled and 90 degrees from the grasping direction, these dressing forceps offer a leverage not seen with standard models. The serrated handle assures a firm grip on this instrument.

Jaws w/ atraumatic parallel serrations Babcock Intestinal Forceps have jaws with atraumatic parallel serrations that are intended to hold a shorter section of intestine with minimal trauma and constriction. There is a ratchet on the inner side of the ring-handles so that the forceps can lock in place when needed during a surgical procedure. The forceps are polished to a dull, satin finish to minimize glare below operating room lights.
