This wire can be used for temporary fixation in some procedures thus giving support through the healing process and then can be removed. Not only can this instrument be used to trim wire but also surgical pins. Fracture repair and other bone repair surgeries has to be set with pins that also need to be trimmed using this instrument. This instrument is available in two designs: stainless steal or tungsten carbide both of which can cup up to a diameter of 2.0 mm.
