This instrument features a long slim neck that flares out into a flat wide blade perfect for scraping action along bone and also in actual cutting of bone. 9" (23.0 cm) Swan Neck Gouge is an instrument designed for gouging or removing particular sections of bone. Additionally it can also be used as a chisel with increased force applied to it to split bone or to scoop out segments to increase access to the center. A unique feature of this particular gouge is the swan shaped curvature that allows it to access difficult to reach areas without obscuring the surgical field and keeping the handle out the plane of surgery.

This instrument features a sturdy handle for ease in handling which then narrows at the neck and widens again into a blade. One potential use of this osteotome is to saw through the skull to increase access during surgery such as craniotomy. Additionally this instrument can be used to reshape bony areas. This osteotome is available in either a curved or straight profile in size sizes ranging from 3.0 mm to 16.0 mm making this a highly versatile instrument suitable for a number of surgical procedures.

8-1/2" (22.0 cm) McCulloch Osteotome is an instrument very similar to a bone chisel. This osteotome can be used in many different neurosurgical and orthopedic type surgical interventions that require manipulation of bone. It features a slim handle and a further flattened body that ends in a chisel type point that allows for scooping or scraping of the bone for a variety of reasons including increasing access and visualization to the surgical field. Additionally this osteotome is available in either 4.0 mm width or 6.0 mm width making it suitable for a vast array of surgical procedures.
