Additionally it can also be used as a chisel with increased force applied to it to split bone or to scoop out segments to increase access to the center. A unique feature of this particular gouge is the swan shaped curvature that allows it to access difficult to reach areas without obscuring the surgical field and keeping the handle out the plane of surgery.

This gouge is available in three sizes 6.0 mm, 12.0 mm and 18.0 mm making them well suited for larger bones in the spinal surgery and smaller ones for more delicate work on the skull.
